Adventures on-board The Pelican of London (2025)

This was an opportunity of a lifetime. I took on this role as an industry placement in my industry experience module at University. The Pelican of London runs a charity that helps young people with disadvantaged backgrounds learn sail training, ocean science, and the importance of teamwork while on voyages upon the tall ship itself that sails the English, Irish, and Welsh oceans.

My role as the videographer was to capture extensive footage of the trainees' learning experiences while sailing from Dublin to Plymouth, and to edit the footage together into a short-film that gives audiences an insight into the importance of the charities work in how they bring young people together to learn important life lessons about the sea, marine science, the operation of a tall ship, and many other aspects of teamwork.

I captured 5 hours worth of footage, including interviews with crew members and trainees, to create an 8 minute short-film with stunning sea landscape cinematography, that results in a fun and hopefully insightful short-film, that I'm very much proud of.
